Vendor Information

It is the intent of Rockingham County Purchasing to make Vendor-County relations pleasant, professional and profitable for both the vendor and the County.  The purpose of the Purchasing Office is to maintain continuity of services and supplies to the various County departments by purchasing at the lowest cost consistent with the quality and quantity required.   

The Purchasing staff is committed to the following:

  1. To conduct all purchasing activities according to the N.C. General Statues and County Code.
  2. To conduct all purchasing activities in such a manner as to develop and maintain good public, vendor and internal relationships.
  3. To encourage fair and open competition by legitimate and ethical means.
  4. To maintain the integrity of the Purchasing Office at all times, keep free from any personal obligations to vendors, and respect their confidence.
  5. To respect departmental authority at all times and not use it for private and advantage or gain.
  6. To promote the goodwill of the Purchasing Office at all times.

All companies are encouraged to pursue opportunities with Rockingham County.  Vendors and sales representatives are invited to call on Purchasing Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  An appointment prior to arrival is strongly encouraged.

A completed vendor application does not entitle a vendor to any particular solicitation nor does it guarantee that your company will receive notification of bids.  It is the potential bidder's responsibility to periodically check the website and make contact with the Purchasing Office.
