Though paper is a fairly durable means of record-keeping, it does fade and decay with time. Fortunately, there are various ways to restore and protect old documents, as shown below. Maintaining the quality of the paper is necessary in order to preserve the integrity of our county’s historical records, and we take the preservation of our county’s records seriously.
We use Kofile Preservation to care for and repair and care for our oldest records. By ensuring that records receive the proper care and practicing modern preservation techniques, the books and all records within them survive for posterity.
